The creation of this Network aims primarily to articulate and give visibility to researchers working in the fields of theory of history and the history of historiography in Latin America. Over the past decade, our area has consolidated itself as a crucial space for critical resonance regarding global debates: from climate change and the Anthropocene to the challenges posed by migration, digitalization, decolonization, and the epistemic reconfiguration of social sciences and humanities.

Although Latin America constitutes an epistemically fertile and profoundly diverse territory, many of its theoretical contributions continue to be produced under conditions of relative isolation, achieving recognition only when legitimized by traditionally hegemonic academic circuits. This disconnection not only limits the impact of our research but also reproduces structural forms of ignorance among peers within the same region.

The Network aims to reverse this situation by creating a collective space for exchange, mutual recognition, and active cooperation among researchers, study groups, and centers in Latin America. To achieve this, it will promote the circulation of publications, the organization of scientific meetings and dissemination activities, with the goal of strengthening existing ties, generating new channels of collaboration, and contributing to the consolidation of a critical Latin American community in the field.
