Verónica Tozzi Thompson is a Doctor of Philosophy (UBA), with postdoctoral studies at Universidade de Sussex and the New York School for Social Research. She is a Full Professor of the Philosophy of History at UBA and a Professor of Epistemology of the Social Sciences in the graduate program at UNTREF. She is a Senior Researcher at CONICET and currently directs the Instituto de Filosofia da UBA. She coordinates, along with other researchers from the institution, the Metahistorias research group, based at the Institute since 2020. She is one of the main references in Narrative Philosophy of History and, in particular, in the work of historian philosopher Hayden White. She develops a reading, starting from pragmatist philosophy and epistemology of testimony, of the whitean notion of “realismo figural”, with the aim of advancing a situated rationality concept capable of allowing for precise reconstructions of controversies about the past both within the discipline and in memory policies. She is the director of the History and Theory collection published by Prometeo.
