Biography:

Ph.D. in History from the Graduate Program in Social History (PPGHIS-UFRJ) (2020-2024), Master’s degree in History from the same program (2020) and Bachelor’s degree in History from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). I maintain an interest in the field of Theory of History, Historiography, and Intellectual History, with a focus on studies about Brazilian and Latin American Political Thought between the 1930s and 1970s. The approaches are directed towards the study of concepts such as nation, nationalism, modernity, history, dependency, and power. During my master’s degree, I studied the production of sociologist Alberto Guerreiro Ramos (1915-1982) between the years of 1955 and 1964, investigating the concept of Race and History in his work. In my doctoral studies, I analyzed the ‘Brazil as a Power’ imaginary in Brazilian military geopolitical thought by Golbery do Couto e Silva and Carlos de Meira Mattos during the period between 1950 and 1980, thus connecting Brazilian political thought, political theory, and aspects of the History of International Relations, discussing in this way the relationship between the ‘Brazil as a Power’ imaginary and Latin America. I am also a member of the UERJ (COMUM) Community for Studies on Theory of History and a researcher at Grupo de Estudos José Luís Romero (UERJ).
