PhD in History, he is a full professor at Universidade Federal do Piauí, where he works in the Graduate Program in History and the Department of History. He completed his postdoctorate at Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa, where he worked as a visiting researcher. He was vice rector of UFPI and has been a research productivity fellow from CNPq for over twenty years. He has published several books, among which stands out “Todos os dias de paupéria: Torquato Neto e a invenção da tropicália”, which is now in its second edition.
